I’m back with another round of photos from all over the place (if by “all over the place” you mean Fargo, Casselton, Itasca, Stillwater and out in the country). Click on one of the images below to view the full image.
Hope you enjoy them. If you enjoy do, you can find more here.
- This is a store in Stillwater, Minn. I took this photo during a night shoot with a friend of mine in the summer of 2012. It would probably have been a much better shot if the lights had been on inside, but I don’t think they’d probably want to open up shop just for little old me.
- This shot took a little while to grow on me. It’s in Stillwater, Minn. I wasn’t sure about it at first, and I’m still not sure that I’m completely sold on it. But I like the triangular form and the contrast of bright highlights and hard darks.
- Like a couple of the other shots in this set, I took this in Stillwater, Minn. I like the tactile and weathered texture of the building as well as the upward “motion” of the forms. I also like how very flat it looks. It’s just kind of different. Pretty stark.
- Just some corn out in rural Clay County (Minn.).
- If you live in Fargo, N.D., and you like cameras, you gotta shoot the Fargo Theatre sign once in a while.
- I’m torn on this shot. It’s another one from Stillwater, Minn. I like the cool street light in the upper right. It’s been suggested that I crop it down. And I can see where some might not like the cars in the front. But, I don’t know. There’s something I like about it.
- Long-exposure of an ethanol plant in Casselton, N.D.
- The bright moon and clouds against the dark sky looked cool … so I took some pictures :-)
- This is an artist using a grinder on a piece for a sculpture. I wish I would have gotten a little longer to work with this one. I might could have taken one less grainy. Nevertheless, it’s fun.
- This is somewhere out in rural Cass or Clay County. I was trying to get my tripod set up for a slow shutter-speed shot, but I could tell the train was going to be past before I could get the shot. So I just snapped something without much hope. But, when I got back to the computer, I discovered that I liked what I got. The shake and slow shutter speed along with the sunset colors make look sort of Impressionistic. Guess you never know.
- And this … well, this is my very cute little boy, Will, playing on a slide at Itasca State Park. He’s a pretty awesome little guy. :-)
