Japanese lens-maker Tamron has announced a zoom lens covering a whopping 16-300mm! (You can order it at Adorama.) Tamron is producing the unit for Nikon, Canon, and Sony, Maxxum cameras. Aperature range for the lens is f3.5-6.3 (minimum range is f22-40).

I’m curious to see a review or two on this product to get a feel for what the performance is like. I don’t see one on DP Review yet, but I assume there will be one there soon. You can read the company’s press release about the product here.

If you’re a Nikon user, Nikon makes an 18-300, which you can get here -> Nikon 18-300mm f/3.5-5.6G AF-S DX Nikkor Lens.

And, again, you can order the Tamron lens here at Adorama).
